Today (like everyday) The View ladies got into a heated debate — but today things got heavy.
The hosts were discussing a Texas law that requires women to have a sonogram before having an abortion, when Sherri Shepherd quieted cohorts' squawking with her real-life non-idealist input.
While holding back tears Shepherd argued that there should be less abortions, but it's not gonna happen until the mothers are offered help raising the child or children they keep. She said:
"We stop at the picket signs and we don't help you past that! I'm speaking as a girl who had a lot of abortions and I swear to God, if they had shown me a picture of the fetus… I would have put my child in a lot of situations that wouldn't have been good because I didn't have the mental capacity to deal with having a child."
Powerful stuff. It takes a LOT of courage to admit something like that on national TV.
The gurl is using her platform to speak on behalf of the women that need one! No matter your political stance, you have to respect your strength!
