There are many different varieties of bananas including plantains, sweet bananas, Brazilian Red Bananas, and finger bananas. Bananas are a great food for kids because they are a good source of vitamin B6, vitamin C, potassium, and dietary fiber.

They are also a good source of manganese which is an important nutrients for healthy bone structure, especially for growing children. Since bananas are an excellent source of potassium, they are a good food for promoting a healthy heart. Bananas have also been recognized for their aid in digestive help because of their levels of pectin which can help to normalize the movement of food through the digestive tract and ease constipation.

Fresh bananas can last up to five days when stored properly. You can put them in the refrigerator to help them retain their nutrient content. When bananas are plump and evenly colored without many brown spots, they are ready to be eaten.
