This is a risky move, but it's a big F-U to the MPAA.
And we support the Weinstein Co.'s decision 100%.
After Harvey and his fellow celeb pals tried to fight the MPAA after they gave the film an 'R' rating, meaning children under the age of 17 could not see it unless accompanied by an adult, he decided to take matters into his own hands, even threatening legal action.
The one thing that Harvey and Co. have going for them is that the film has received so much publicity, it will hopefully get more exposure when it's released.
So far, they've received backing from AMC Theaters. Here's hoping many others will follow suit.
