Perezcious mommy Libby from San Antonio wants to make sure that her kid gets the proper amount of calcium, but he doesn't like milk! What to do!
Thankfully, Perezitos's nutrition expert Margaux J. Rathbun has some delicious alternatives to dairy!
"Hi Margaux! I love all of your nutrition tips. I was wondering, what are some good non-dairy sources of calcium? My child doesn’t like milk and I want to be sure he is getting enough calcium in his diet. Thank you!"
This is what Margaux has to say:
"Great question! Some of my favorite veggies that are full of calcium include spinach, collard greens and Swiss chard. Some other great sources would be kale, sesame seeds, broccoli, and green beans. Cinnamon is also a good source of calcium, so you can include that spice in your soups and morning smoothies. Oranges are another good source of calcium that most children love to eat! Hope that helps!"
Sounds like one delicious protein shake! Ha!
