Nutrition Tips For Busy Moms: Energy-Boosting Foods

Perezitos's nutrition expert Margaux J. Rathbun has some wonderful nutrition tips for you and your little ones!

This week, Margaux wants to share her favorite energy-boosting foods for SUPER busy moms!

This is gonna be a tough one for working mommas!

She says:

"Stop! Don't reach for a third cup of coffee! I know that it takes a lot of energy to be a mom these days, but there are better ways to stay alert and energized than always loading up on caffeine. Did you know that some foods contain nutrients that will give us a natural lift of energy and keep us going throughout the day? Try incorporating avocados, salmon, spinach, and broccoli into your diet on a daily basis. Nuts are also a great energy boosting snack. I love almonds because not only are they energizing but they contain nutrients to help keep your immune system strong. If you are a tea drinker, try Yerba Mate or even a green tea. These teas contain caffeine but will not give you the jitters or energy-crash associated with coffee. You can even add some raw organic honey to your tea for an added boost of energy. The easiest thing you can do to stay energized? Drink plenty of water during the day. Fatigue is a symptom of dehydration, so always carry a BPA-free water bottle around with you."

We've always preferred tea, ourselves! Yumz!
