Perezitos.com's nutrition expert Margaux J. Rathbun wants to help parents feed their kids with the right foods by showcasing a specialty food every week.
This week, it's all about cauliflower!
"Does your kid complain about hating green veggies? Perfect! Give them cauliflower instead! Just because this delicious vegetable isn't as pretty and green as, say, broccoli, it doesn't make it any less nutritious. In fact, cauliflower is a delicious way to incorporate vitamins and minerals into a picky-eater's diet. Cauliflower is an excellent source of vitamin C, K, and folate. It's also a great way to incorporate digestive-friendly fiber into your kid's diet. Cauliflower can promote a healthy heart and prevent against certain cancers. It's also a great food for giving your kids a natural lift of energy due to it's vitamin B1, B2, and B5 content. Cauliflower can be enjoyed raw or lightly steamed for about 5 to 7 minutes."
It's mm-mm good!
