Nutrition Tips For Busy Moms: Delicious And Nutritious Easy Breakfast Ideas

Perezitos's nutrition expert Margaux J. Rathbun has some wonderful nutrition tips for you and your little ones!

This week, Margaux wants to share some scrumptious and healthy AND easy breakfast ideas!

Because everyone loves things that are easy!

She says:

Mornings in the household can be a bit hectic for moms. Sometimes, they get so busy taking care of everybody else that they forget to eat breakfast themselves! Don't let this happen to you. If you skip breakfast, you are more likely to overeating during the day, crave snacks, drink more sugary and caffeinated beverages, and crash around 2 pm! Get in the habit of eating foods like Greek yogurt (or coconut yogurt if you are vegan) topped with your favorite berries. Yogurt is a great way to incorporate probiotics (friendly bacteria) into your body. The berries are loaded with antioxidants to help you stay well during cold and flu season. If you love oatmeal, try adding about 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil to the mix with a dash of cinnamon and honey. Flax seed oil will not only give you a nice boost of energy, but it has been shown to help lower cholesterol levels. If you are too busy to sit and eat breakfast at home, try making a delicious smoothie loaded with greens, berries, and your favorite milk. Just pour it into a BPA-free tumbler and take it with you wherever you go!
