This is incredibly sad.
Joel Morales, a 12-year-old boy from Harlem, committed suicide after kids at school bullied him about his height and intelligence.
His mother found him hanging from a shower rod in the bathroom on Tuesday night.
He did not leave a note.
A close friend of the young boy said that only hours before his death Joel had mentioned he was "tired of being bullied."
Here's what the deceased's sister said:
"I know in my heart it was bullying that made him do it."
Another tragedy such as this only further entrenches our belief that not only does bullying need to eventually end, but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
Otherwise it is inevitable there will be scores of other Joel Morales's who feel the only way to end the pain of bullying is by ending their precious life.
