There's been a lot of talk about breastfeeding, lately.
One mom from Minnesota is now paying the price for breastfeeding in public.
A totally LEGAL act.
The staff at a Minnesota area library have been forced to apologize after throwing her out of their building. Hadley Barrows was nursing her son when a security guard approached her.
Here's what the security guard said:
"He said I was either going to have to take it outside or go in the bathroom. He said, you’re not even covered up, you’re just showing everyone: indecent exposure."
What a RUDE thing to say!
The embarrassed mom went to a librarian who agreed with the security guard! Wow.
Here's what the mother said:
"There are enough obstacles to nursing as it is, without having people make you feel like a criminal for doing it. You think of the library as a place of knowledge. And even in the library, they don’t know that it’s OK to nurse your kid in public."
Breastfeeding in public is totally legal in Minnesota, so the library was very much in the wrong.
The security guard's monitor has been informed of the situation and hopes to make sure something like this never happens again.
We certainly hope it doesn't!
