It's almost been a year ago since our radiant, bubbly ball of sunshine, Rachel Crow, jumped up on that X Factor stage and blew us ALL away with her powerful vocals!
Now, ever since her XF journey ended, the 14 year old has been on her way to having even MORE success in her music career!
As we mentioned before, Rachel will be touring with Nickelodeon boy band, Big Time Rush this summer and has just released her first single, Mean Girls, off her upcoming debut EP due out June 26!!
In a recent interview, Rachel opened up about Simon Cowell, her XF experience AND what we can expect from her new album!
On her emotional X Factor elimination:
"I was like, 'I'll be fine!' I also overreacted just a little bit, but that was a real reaction. I felt myself wanting to win so badly. I was super sad because I thought everything was over at the time, but it actually had just begun."
As for keeping in touch with Simon? Rachel revealed:
"He actually texts me, so I'll get little messages like, 'Love your new single.' It's the coolest thing ever. I'm like, 'Mom! Simon texted me!' I asked for his phone number to make sure I could stay in touch because I look up to him."
About her upcoming EP and what she stands for:
"My first song, which I helped write, is Mean Girls and it's very pop. I like to call it my very own If I Were A Boy. It means a lot to me because I want it to stop the bullies and make it clear to everyone that I'm not just a fourteen-year-old; I'm trying to be a strong, independent girl and I want people to hear me loud and clear."
We hear you, Rachel and we think you are such a great role model for young girls!
We are SO proud of you and can't wait to hear more!!!
