A World With No Math Is A Scary One!!!
Have you ever seen a video where you laughed AND learned about a good cause?
No?
Well, today is your lucky day!
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see a HIGHlarious take that the folks at The Daily Show With Jon Stewart put together alongside Julie Bowen "to bring a new community-wide math program to elementary school children struggling to learn basic math in Africa and Asia."
Here's what one of the stars of the video said:
“As a child who loved learning but struggled with math, I dreamed about a world in which I'd never have to study Algebra again. But as an adult I've learned the value of numeracy in an increasingly numbers-driven world. What would the human race achieve without math? In the words of Dean Wermer from Animal House: 'Zero. Point. Zero.'"
The goal of this incredible campaign is to raise at least $250,000 by August 18th. Those proceeds will help develop students’ math knowledge by 2012!
Donors to the Save the Children campaign can receive super awesome math gifts like rulers, calculators, protractors and measuring tape autographed by all of the celebrities featured in the video, or an outgoing cell phone message by movie-trailer voiceover king, Richard Green.
How cool is that???
