Melanie Griffith & Antonio Banderas aren't just hot. They're charitable, too!
The generous couple, who recently donated $41,000 for a Giraffe Warmer bed for the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unity at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, have joined the First Families Legacy Program - a group of families who collectively commit to giving $100,000 or more to the hospital.
But it isn't just the two stars who are heavily involved in charitable hospital work, but their family members, as well.
Melanie's daughter Stella was inspired by her mother to become a regular hospital volunteer, and Antonio's nephew has begun to volunteer, as well.
Here's what Melanie said:
“We’re so inspired by the strength of the families and staff at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. We have always wanted to get involved with a cause that truly has an impact, and here we have this incredible institution in our backyard with some of the best doctors and researchers in the world helping children. People give for many reasons, but we feel there’s no more important cause than the children—they are our future.”
We obviously think this is wonderful, and we hope it serves as a jumping off point for other celebrities to become more heavily involved with charities and philanthropic work - if they aren't already doing so.
