A mom from Utah named Valerie Bruno is really upset with a judge who encouraged her to cut off her daughter's lovely ponytail in order for the little girl to receive a lighter amount of community service.
The trouble started when Kaytlen Lopan and her friend were charged after cutting off several inches of another girl's hair. The two mean girls pretended to be the toddler's friend before hacking off the locks.
SO the judge gave the defendant's mother a choice between either community service or another special option.
Here's what the judge said:
"I will cut [the community service] by 150 hours if you want to cut her hair right now. I'll go get a pair of scissors and we'll whack that ponytail off."
Wait, what kind of legal system is this?
Is that a law???
If thou shall whack off another girl's hair then thou shall have their hair whacked off just the same.
We are in no way condoning what this thirteen year old did to the toddler's hair, but two wrongs don't make a right, right?
Apparently, this Utah judge thinks that they do, and now three girls don't have their hair.
Plus, the mother who had to cut her daughter's hair off is understandably very unhappy.
Here's what she said:
"I felt very intimidated. An eye for an eye, that's not how you teach kids right from wrong."
We totally agree!!!
