When To Give Your Kids Juice!

It's Q&A time!!!

Amy Malin, Perezitos' pro party planner, organizer, and all around motherhood expert, has done it all!

So we figured since Liza in Kentucky is seeking some advice, who's better than Amy to answer it for her!

Here's what Liza asked:

Hi Amy. My son is one years old and all of his friends are drinking juice. I have avoided giving it to him up till this point and so should I start now? Help!

Here's what Amy said:

"Hi Liza. You have done the right thing in not giving your son juice up to this point and you should try and continue to limit his juice intake. Juice is pure sugar and high in calories. The healthier option is to serve your son whole fruit so he gets the benefits of the fiber and nutrients contained by eating the fruit. Teach your son that water is vital for optimal health now and he will be on the right path to stay hydrated and healthy. Soda is the worst of the worst, so if you are forced to choose between the two for your kids, juice is the much better option but water is the best drink in all situations. If you do serve juice to your son, always pick organic juices which have natural sugar instead of processed sugar and artificial coloring. Creating healthy nutrition habits for your baby is a great way to instill healthy habits that will become lifelong lifestyle choices."
