A real life Home Alone sounds pretty funny- for about 5 minutes.
As Liam Corcoran and his mother were shopping Tuesday, the 11-year-old got upset and ran away- right into Manchester Airport.
The unaccompanied minor walked through the busy terminal and soon found himself sitting on a flight to Rome.
It seems no one noticed the boy was out of place until the flight had nearly landed, at which point Liam was held onboard until they could fly back to England.
As the plane landed back in Manchester, it was met by the police and, scarier still for Liam, his mother. At least Liam arrived in Manchester safe and sound!
Well, all's well that ends well, right? Not exactly.
Jet2 is launching a full investigation to find out just how the child was able to slip through security without a ticket, a pass, or a parent! An airport spokesman said:
"We know that people are not very happy about it. The investigation will look at how this has happened… He's evaded checks. He did go through the metal detector and didn't sound any alarms. He wasn't a danger to any of the passengers."
Five Jet2 employees have already been suspended pending the results of the inquiry. Maybe the skies were a little too friendly this time?
