Kicking someone off a flight because of a disability is discrimination pure and simple.
According to Joan and Robert Vanderhorst, their 16-year-old son Bede was discriminated against because of his Down syndrome.
After being kicked off their flight, they say they pleaded with the officers to see reason. Robert says:
"It was horrible, humiliating. We were treated like criminals…One officer even told me to call our congressman and report the pilot."
American Airlines stands by its decision to ban Bede from the flight, saying that the young man was "agitated" and posed a "flight risk."
Ch-ch-check out the video (above) and see mother Joan's cell phone video of the incident for yourself. Do U think Bede looks like a flight risk?
Robert Vanderhorst, an attorney, plans to sue American Airlines for discrimination. We hope at least that the jury sees reason!
