Wyatt Erber entered a local scavenger hunt with a clear goal in mind: win the $1000 prize… and give it away??
Wyatt was determined to help his neighbor, 2-year-old Cara Kielty, who had recently been diagnosed with leukemia. Wyatt's mother Noelle says:
"He was really aware of what cancer is. When he found out Cara had cancer, his heart sank."
To everyone's surprise, the little boy with the big heart won the whole darn thing, and sure enough, fulfilled his promise, an act that shocked Cara's mother Trisha. She says:
"I knew he was wanting to do it for Cara, which is the sweetest thing ever, but an 8-year-old giving adults money? I tried to protest to his mom. Then she told me he asked how much chemo this would buy Cara. He gets it."
Wyatt's magnanimity encouraged others to donate as well. His $1000 gift has already been matched!
Noelle couldn't be prouder of her son. She said:
"He's always been a very sweet boy. I'm very lucky to call him my son."
We couldn't agree more! We're proud of Wyatt and we just heard of him today!
