Teens Doing Much Less Drinking & Driving!

The number of teens whom drink and drive has fallen by about half since 1991.
A whopping 54 percent drop in teens who drink and drive has happened which is great news for all of us older and sober drivers on the road.
In 2011 only 10.3 percent reported drinking and driving compared to the year 1991 when almost 20 percent admitted to drinking and driving and that's one MAJOR difference.
The credit has been given to every state raising the mandatory age limit to drink which is 21, and the zero tolerance for alcohol in any teens systems even if it is only just a little!
Here's what one source said:
“There is a broader recognition that drinking and driving is not O.K.. There is now a sense that friends don’t let friends drink and drive. If you think of the broader social change from ‘one for the road’ to ‘friends don’t let friends drink and drive,’ that’s a major change in our society, and I think that’s one of the things that’s really driving the progress here.”
Hear, hear!
We definitely agree with those sentiments. When we were in high school if a friend told us they were drinking and driving we would all stare at them disapprovingly until they gave us their keys!!
Seriously, it works!!!
