A teacher from Southern California is suing her former employer for telling her to retrain the time when her breasts produced milk for her newborn child.
Sarah Ann Lewis Boyle told her boss she'd need fifteen minutes between 9 and 11 am to use a breast pump for her daughter.
"Training my breasts not to make milk between the hours of 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.," which Boyle said would essentially "starve [the baby] slightly."
Boyle complained to the human resources department who said it was a misunderstanding, and they'd see to the problem, but nothing was ever changed and when Boyle had her three month review - she was promptly told management had decided not to renew her contract despite the fact she had received a perfect score on the previous evaluation.
Wow, that is shameful.
We sure hope the mother wins the lawsuit!
