Baby Box Ban??? Cue The Controversy!
In a lot of European countries, mothers are allowed to leave their newborn babies in a public accessible incubator.
The point of these incubators, also called baby boxes, is to allow a mother a public place to leave their unwanted baby.
Once a baby is put in the box, a silent alarm is sounded and a nurse is dispatched immediately.
There are hundreds of these baby boxes all over Europe, but although they appear to be safe - the U.N. is saying the baby boxes violate the rights of the children to identify their parents.
"Baby boxes do not operate in the best interest of the child or the mother."
No arguments here!!!
