Newborn Minneapolis Baby Switched At Birth & Breastfed By WRONG Mom!

| Filed under: Baby BlabberOops!Wacky, Tacky & TrueHealth

On Wednesday, Tammy Van Dyke gave birth to her son Cody at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, and once the nurses got him all cleaned up, he went off to the nursery… BUT was placed in the wrong bassinet.

The mommy said:

"You put your baby in the nursery, not even 48-hours old, and you think they're safe. I'm holding it together. I'm just in disbelief, and it was like I was in a dream, a bad dream, and I couldn't get it to stop."

Now, Tammy's infant will be subjected to a year worth of HIV and hepatitis tests because he was breastfed by another mom.

Even though the tests were only given as a precaution and fortunately came back negative, we're still in awe that this happened!!

And in efforts to try to smooth things over, the hospital offered remorse by writing a letter to Van Dyke, they wrote:

"Please accept this letter with our sincerest apologies for what occurred today at the hospital, that in the nursery your newborn son was placed in the wrong bassinette and then was taken to the wrong mother and breastfed. The hospital agrees to pay for the additional testing that you had done today and will also pay for the tests recommended for your son related to this incident up to one year."

Hmmm… we're happy that they're gonna pay for all the testing, but what about the emotional distress the poor woman went through?!?

We don't know about you, but maybe a suit should be in order, because this is a HUGE scare that should NOT happen EVER!!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) and hear what Tammy has to say about the HORRIBLE mishap!
