Iron Gives Small Babies A Behavioral Boost?

Does your newborn baby have low birth weight?
Giving them iron supplements may help!
A new study that gave babies born with low birth weight iron supplements appears to IMPROVE their behavior by the time they reach preschool.
"These results not only suggest that the increased risk of behavioral problems in children with low birth weight may be partially prevented but also lend support to a causal relationship between preventive iron supplementation and improved neurobehavioral development in infants at risk for iron deficiency."
The iron babies were tested along with babies who were given placebos, and the iron babies were much less likely to have behavioral problem at around three-and-a-half.
Although the iron had no effect on the baby's intelligence level, so don't expect the iron to turn your little one into a baby genius!
Or an IRON BABY!!!
Lolz!
