9-year-old Dalton Dingus from Kentucky is currently suffering from stage four cystic fibrosis, and just when his mommy Jessica said the "doctors had given up on him" and only gave him "two to eight days to live…" he began to feel better and even set the record for most received Christmas cards!!
According to the Guinness World Records spokeswoman, Jamie Panas, the organization "currently does not monitor a category for this."
However, since he has received 504,269 cards as of late, he beat out Canadian Jarrod Booth who got 205,120 20 years ago.
Wondering how this all even went down?!?
A close family friend of Dalton's started a Facebook page to simply say he/she hopes he feels better, and out of nowhere, the page went viral.
Now with all the letters coming in, Jessica doesn't even know where to store 'em, but she's excited because of how good her son has been doing, adding:
"It's just been the best Christmas ever. He's excited for the first time in a long time. He's smiling more. He's laughing more, he's beginning to become how he was two years ago. I think just knowing people really do care for him, that the cards let him know people love him, it has all helped."
Awww! What a beautiful Christmas miracle!!
Ch-ch-check out Dingus and his cards (above)!
