Every parents' worst nightmare.
An Irish nanny living in Boston, MA has been accused and charged with violently assaulting a baby. The baby died two days later from its injuries.
Aisling McCarthy Brady had been living in the U.S. since 2002 and has denied the assault and battery of Rehma Sabir. The alleged assault occurred on January 14th - the day of the baby's first birthday.
Ms. Brady is currently on $500,000 bail. Which seems like a lot of money for a nanny to have…
The nanny was supposed to only stay in the country for 90 days when she arrived in 2002, but obviously she overstayed her welcome.
Here was what a representative from Ireland said:
"We are aware of the case and have been in contact with the family. We are ready to provide any consular assistance if it is needed."
Police say there were called to the house where they found the baby unconscious. She was treated at Boston Children's Hospital for where she was treated for bleeding of the brain and eyes.
That is so sad, and we offer our deepest condolences to the baby's family.
