This is disgusting and oh-so-sad.
A Los Angeles elementary school teacher is accused of fondling up to 20 of his female students! WTF.
Robert Pimentel is charged with 15 felony counts for allegedly touching students and a co-worker at George La Torre Jr. Elementary School between September 2011 and March 2012.
The superintendent said:
"My determination was that she was previously mishandling other complaints. My intent was to fire them."
Both the principal and Pimentel retired before he could fire 'em.
Pimentel showed up at court on Thursday, but he did not enter a plea. His attorney claims the 15 felony counts against his client are false - which is exactly what a defense lawyer would say.
His lawyer said:
"If you look at the record, before this, Pimentel has had a pretty exemplary life. He has no arrest record, for anything."
That doesn't mean anything other than he may have been good at hiding his atrocious acts.
We're all about the innocent until proven guilty thing, but come on! 20 students? That is beyond ridiculous!
Police were contacted by the parents of five students who said Pimentel had touched their children in an inappropriate manner.
Here's what the police captain said:
"These were some really alert parents knowing their kids and noticing subtle changes in their personalities."
The police conducted 70 interviews and think 20 students may have been victimized. A female teacher also claimed that Pimentel touched her in a inappropriate manner.
The incidents happened during school hours in front of other school children. Police say the sexual abuse involved fondling over and underneath clothing.
We hope the court discovers the truth soon.
Make those kids feel safe again!!!
