Why are we not surprised?!?
It wasn't enough that Newtown, Conn. had to go through the TERRIBLE tragedy that has left many with a broken hearts that will probably never be repaired, but now the crowd funding site, Indiegogo is forking over some cash to film a movie dubbed, Illness.
Even though the flick is supposedly not directly related to the Sandy Hook shootings, it will have an underlying plot about the unfortunate event that happened at the school.
And in addition to that, Illness will be filmed in nearby Ridgefield, Conn., which has led the community to become enraged.
But now, after the film's producers learned that residents of Newton are hurting over this film, they released a statement to try to clear things up.
“Dear friends, after yesterday’s report about the film, I would like to clarify one very important point. We are not doing a movie about what happened in Newtown and will never do so. We are doing a non-profit film about mental illness. Our objective is to help families with kids struggling with mental illness. I thank you again for all your support.”
We don't know if that's gonna make anyone feel better, but the producers should really take a step back and hold off on filming anything that will bring remembrance to the horrific occurrence.
It's just not fair, even if the movie isn't entirely related to what went down at Sandy Hook!!
