Ian McKellan donned the pointed hat once again to play the wizard Gandalf in The Hobbit.
But he wore a new hat as well- babysitter!
Costar Martin Freeman was separated from his wife and two young children while filming in
Middle Earth New Zealand for 18 months.
"My family would come out for a few weeks then go home again… When they came over to visit, they had the experience of being babysat by Gandalf.
So they were read bedtime stories by Sir Ian McKellen, a man with one of the most beautiful voices in the English language. And that's kind of cool."
Awww! Super cool is more like it! We wonder what they read! Maybe Goodnight Moon!
"Goodnight, orcs. Goodnight, giant eagle. Goodnight, Saruman. Goodnight, Smeagle."
Sounds good to us! LOLz!
