She's not even a Girl Scout. This is nothing but PR bull for her show. Sorry, I'm tired of its for a good cause excuse. If she likes doing it so much why didn't she join scouts?

This is just so wrong and many levels. As a troop leader in my area, it takes away from other girls in her area selling! "Look at me! I'm famous so I can sell GS cookies, like it or not! AND, I'm not even a Girl Scout!" What kind of message is that sending our girls? That its ok to no follow rules, that you can get what you want if you have made a name for yourself in public, good or bad. Sign her up for GS already! She just might learn something. Just wrong wrong wrong on so many levels! Shut her down!

I was so disappointed this last Saturday that there were no Girl Scouts selling cookies at my local supermarket. Used to order thru work, but I am retired now.
Have not watched the show, but from what I have read the family seems nice. Girl Scouts can use the money, think they only get a small amount for their local troop, the rest goes to national HQ. But I may be wrong.

As a former member of our council product sales committe this is so wrong…She is not a Girl Scout, her mother is not registered to handle product or money, and any product she sells should be taken away from the troop she is helping and given directly to the council. No profit for the troop, no awards to the troop. What has happened to "Honest and Fair".
What she and her parents are saying, is S—w you, I'll do it my way.

You did not see that when Dakota Fanning sold cookies, and she played by the rules and is/was a registered Girl Scout.

Is she a registered Girl Scout YET?? If not, then she is NOT ALLOWED TO SELL COOKIES. I don't give a rats ass how 'nice' it is!! All they need to do is pay the $12 registration fee & join a troop. Good grief.

Re: Thebigboot – because they needed help and thats exactly what shes doing, she helped them sell a lot actually. "good cause excuse" its no excuse maybe if you took time to watch the show maybe you'll know that they've been doing stuff like this for years now, before they became famous. They were once in a position in their life where they had nothing and needed help and got it and now the mom enjoy doing the same back to the community. So yeahh know before you talk maybe if you took time to actually know them more and not try to be like everyone else you wouldn't be sounding ridiculous right now

It does not matter if she is a girl scout or not .. how many moms and dads take order forms to work? they aren't girl scouts but its ok for them to help their lil precious and do all her work for her! and about it being fair the cookie selling business has always been crooked… i know the person in charge of setting up selling spots in my area when i was a kid monopolized the Walmart and the high volume selling areas to her own troop and gave he rest of the troops the crap spots! I applaud this scout for being innovative in her marketing technique and using every resource she had to be profitable and also recruiting a new girl scout in the process! everybody who thinks it is wrong can shove your do si do's in your mouth and stop hating cause if you had a famous friend you'd be doing it to !

She's raising money for the Troop. Happy to see it's not on FB because that is not fair nor is it allowed. What's a crime is the minimal amount the actual Troops get per box they sell. Of course, the 'COUNCIL' gets a nice portion… The actual girls and their Troop deserve more than less than a $1.00 per box sold!!!

She IS a girl scout now. And for those complaining, most parents end up selling the cookies themselves anyway. Get real!

Screw all you too good for the world former scout leaders complaining about a little girl doing something positive and good. Alana rules! You are all just jealous because nobody ever wanted your cookies!

If y'all really want something to get your panties in a bunch over it should be the amount of calories in all of the various cookies. One would think that if another troop was doing well you would be proud of them & happy for their success not rip them apart because their methods of achieving such success are different than yours. No wonder why girl on girl hate is so prevalent these days. It's introduced to them from 'our' own behavior at such young age apparently. Focus on your own troop, selling your own cookies & healthier cookies that aren't 140 cals per 2 or 160 cals per 4. Positivity > Negativity.

Congratulations to this little girl, who checked out the troop to see if she wanted to join (and helped them sell while doing it …as allowed by GS USA and her council) and then followed it up by joining Girl Scouts. That is what should happen. Yes famous children are children too! Girl Scouts is for every girl everywhere even famous girls.
