Madonna's Homeless Brother SPEAKS! Claims She Doesn't Care If He's "Dead Or Alive!"

| Filed under: MadonnaSad SadAddictionDysfunctional Families

madonna brother homeless

This is just so beyond tragic.

And all the more proof that nobody has it easy - even freshly-minted billionaires, like Madonna!

The superstar has had her fair share of familial drama over the years, but nothing so difficult and saddening as that which has come from her older brother, Anthony Ciccone, whom, as we've reported, has lived as a homeless person on the streets of Michigan for now up to three years.

For the first time, the 56-year-old is speaking out about his dire situation, and unfortunately, seems to blame his sister and family for turning their backs on him…even though it's his alcoholism seems to have done the most damage to their relationship!

According to him:

"Madonna doesn't give a sh*t if I'm dead or alive. She lives in her own world. I never loved her in the first place, she never loved me. We never loved each other. My father would be very happy if I died of hypothermia and then he would not have to worry about it anymore. He's old school, he grew up in the depression. He doesn't want to be bothered, he's lived his life you see. He doesn't like me. He doesn't want me to be me, he wants me to be somebody else. He thinks the way I live is intentional. He simply doesn't know me. [I got] no family back up, when the chips fell, no family back-up. I'd rather be working. What would you do under these circumstance when your family has stood against you completely? I’m a human being, you can call me what you want. [Alcoholic] is a label, I don’t like it. I don’t need brain surgery, I merely need love and care of family and friends."

However, as a close family friend named Kathy Meteyer will tell you, it's the label of "alcoholism" about which Anthony seems to be in denial that has ruined his life, as it ultimately led to him to being fired from his job at the family's winery:

She counters:

"He did work here, they found things for him to do in the cellar, there’s all kind of work on a daily basis, in the summer there’s all kinds of pruning and picking to do. But he would sneak into the cellars and he would lay on the floor, open up one of the big tanks and drink the wine, with a glass. He just can't come back until he stops drinking, because they think it will kill him, it already kind of has. They have helped him so many times. Tony has put him through rehab and given him lots of chances. I think Madonna paid for rehab a few times. The alcohol has taken over his brain. Joan and Tony Ciccone are the most down to earth people I’ve met, they don’t deserve this. At Thanksgiving Tony packed up all the leftovers and drove all over town to find Anthony and give them to him. His sister Paula has picked him up on occasions and brought him to the house for dinner but he refuses to even stay the night. Anthony just won’t accept help. As a parent you can only do so much before you have to let it go."

So sad, and so true.

Obviously, it seems as though Anthony's recollection of past events and anger with his family have been distorted and misdirected from his clear denial about the root of his problems, and we sincerely hope that if anything can come from him speaking out, it's the realization that the only one isolating him from his loved ones is his overwhelming, life-ruining addiction.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to him.

Please, get the help you need before it's too late.

it's not Madonna's fault her brother is homeless. He wants to work, then he should work, he's a grown adult, she shouldnt have to support him because he wants to sit around and drink all day. she would only enable him to continue his bad habits, thats never good. i cut my mother off, she continues to do drugs and I refuse to help her until she stops doing drugs. if she has money for that then why can't she pay her own bills, they should come before her drugs.
sounds like Madonnas brother is the same, drinking is more important than getting his shiz together and he blames everyone else.

yeah his first time speaking …in what 5 mins stop writing stuff about her…why is it her problem she has a screwed up brother.

  3. 3

Denial is more than a river in Egypt. I hope he understands few people will have empathy for him.

Yeah, obviously, it has to be the guys fault who has no publicist, pr team, or millions of adoring fans. Or, is it, dare it say, even possible (gasp) that someone is an aged diva who can't be bothered with such things? No way that could be possible. Back pop culture….for three more years. Then point and laugh when she's flabby.
Perez (Mario, whatever)- look at yourself bro-you're still a bully-just cause you don't draw dicks on people's faces anymore doesn't make it any less true….really, look in a mirror. If its popular and "in" it must be great and if not laugh and point at it. You are everything you claim to despise.
Just some food for thought for your therapist…oh, wait, you give advice and don't take it. Well, something to talk about with gwyneth Paltrow at least…..deuche

Perhaps he would have better luck asking her if she would put him in rehab and be there along with his family to support his road to recovery….it shouldn't be harder to ask for help than it is to ask for money……

he deserves to die he's slimy and disgusting and gross. homeless people are disgusting and are not people. they are essentially worthless trash.

  7. 7

This isn't the first time he's spoken out about this. It's his 1000th. She's helped him on many occasions. He blew it each time.

  8. 8

Both stories conflict with each other, and since I don't know any of them I can't assume anything one way or the other. For all I know he is the one being the most truthful. If he has a drinking problem then that is something he is struggling with, and on some level I have to still feel for him. I wouldn't want a family member of mine to be homeless.

Unfair she may have tried to help him or maybe its a case of the guy needs to help himself. I am sure many of us have been in the position where you want to help but the person needs to full themselves together and help themself. What if she gives him money or in the past has given him money just for him to blow on drugs and alcohol. We dont know the situation so should not judge her.

I have also worked on a psychiatric and substance abuse units. So many here lack compassion. They cannot just stop drinking. Depression and genetics are the underlying causes. My brothers couldn't stop. much as I tried. Had an uncle who quit smoking for 25 yrs but he couldn't stop drinking. A retired MP USARMY. Has nothing to do with willpower, weakness. Indeed he needs support! He cannot work anywhere where alcohol is too convenient for him to get his hands on. Alcoholics and other types of addicts self medicate. He is angry , yes and has reasons to be. And alcohol may have influenced

Of course, it`s Madonna`s fault!!! Madonna is a completely evil witch. And as they have never liked each other, I` m sure she has magically caused all his problems, even the alcohol addiction itself. This is really possible, cause I myself knew a person who could do these things, too. You can be a good magician, or an evil one, depending on what kind of a person you are. A good magician would only damage or kill someone, if that person would have started wanting to damage or kill himself first and without any reason. But an evil magician would start to want to harm or kill another person without that other person having done anything wrong to him, just becuse of envy or jealousy or becuse the evil magician would have an advantage out of it. Because an evil person would want to have an advantage for him-/herself even at the cost of another living being. And Madonna is definitely a completely evil person! This she has proved to us over and over again!!!

As a person with a family member with serious addiction problems I can understand this. The way her brother portrays it is certainly not the only part of the story. She may have loads of money but money isn't going to fix a problem like this unless the brother wants to get well.

Re: Flinders – Alcoholism is indeed a disease. The medical field does not know the exact mechanism that causes alcoholism, but it’s believed that it has both biological and psychological roots. Alcoholism is chemical in that it breaks down in the stomach having a completely different effect on the brain of an alcoholic than a non-alcoholic. It’s biological, meaning that the chemical predisposition is inherited. It has it’s own diagnosis and pathology. It doesn’t depend on the existence of another disease for its presence, however a causative factor in other diseases. It’s destructive to the heart, brain, liver, kidneys, and almost every other organ which can lower resistance to numerous other diseases. It’s progressive, chronic, and fatal.

i think it sounds like he's very immature and have too much pride (don't know what he has to be proud of) to admit that it's his own fault that he's an alcoholic and a homeless person. he only has himself to blame.
(sorry if my spelling is bad)

  30. 30

he's an alcoholic and just has no desire to get sober. he needs to stop blaming the world for the bullshit he's created. get sober or shut the fuck up.

  31. 31

Ugh. Alcoholism turns into a diseases after you've made enough excuses to make your mind and body dependant of the drug, for it to be under control (as you will never really be free from this addiction), you need to want to, you need to stop making excuses for your behaviour and start taking responsibility, go to rehab, do everything you can to get yourself back on track. Sadly, this man seems to blame Madonna for his failure and I'm pretty sure she tried to help him. You can be an alcoholic, but being a douche and badmouthing your sister by writing a tell all book? That's stepping over the line. He doesn't want help, he just wants to be able to continue living without having to control himself and somehow, this is Madonnas fault. I feel sorry for them all.

I'm not surprised the eternal victims of the world are on his side. Like him, they can't take responsibility for their own actions and blame everyone else for their stupid choices. He chose to become a degenerate drunk, and continues to be one.

But stupid people always take the eternal victim's side because they are just as stupid and lost.

Cancer is a disease, not picking up a bottle and swilling it down like a useless pig!

She already paid for his REHAB and you see what he did with that. NOTHING It's called Admiting you have a problem and doing something about it. These people become masters at game playing. Play their familes and hope they will continue to be enablers. She has NOTHING to do with him drinking. Grow up and face your issues. Step 1 Admit you have a problem…YOU!

Wha…Wha…Wha,…! Poor drunk…I came from a long line of drunks and losers…my mom got us out of the downward spiral when we were kids and gave us a sense of hard work and self-worth. Madonna and I are both Leo's and born a few days apart…I GET HER…she's worked hard and deserves every ounce of success she has. I'm so sick of losers (like most of my family who expect everyone to feel sorry them and are jealous because I'm gay, happy and successful) griping about their lives. We all make choices. If we spend the majority of our earnings on cigarettes, alcohol and drugs…and up sick, homeless and in the gutter…TOO FREAKING BAD! Rock-on Madonna…enjoy your Billions!

Some people just have a self=destructive gene and he may be one of them.
My late brother died when he was 52, sleeping in has van on the street. He had so much potential that was never fulfilled. He was taking crystal meth, and I think it may have weakened his heart.

Addiction to alcohol is the ultimate deal breaker. The behavior of the drunk ultimately alienates EVERYONE. So, his dad is old school. Why isn't he? You work for a living and provide for yourself, and you don't whine and act like you're some kind a victim, apart from being your own victim of your own choices and victimizing your entire family who are continually kept beside themselves by the drunk who they love but cannot fix. You especially shouldn't expect a sister to pay your tab while you feed your addiction and remain unemployed. That would make her a sucker and an enabler. He sounds like a nightmare who is in total denial. It's always the people and family around the drunk who suffer. The drunk doesn't give a shit about anyone else when it comes to his liquor.

  46. 46

YOu can only hel an alcoholic as much as they will allow you to. You can't cure them- htey have to want to do it. Too many alcoholics in my lifeover the years - I learned my lesson. As hard as it is sometimes you just have to turn your back on them until they will help themself. Just because she or her family have $s does not mean they have to keep trying to help him and pay endlessley for rehan he is ibviously ont taking seriously. If he is allwoing himself to live 3+ years homeless when he could have a job and home, he has not hit his bottom yet or his reality.

In pictures from another article Anthony looks like an old man. I remember him from the 90's in Madonna's Truth or Dare movie. He looked young, handsome and like the stereotypical Italian man. He had this deep sexy radio voice to match. It's amazing how time and circumstance can change a person. I also remember Madonna making jokes to her other brother in the movie about Anthony's drinking and rehab. It's sad that nothing has improved 20 years.
