Angelina Jolie Opens All-Girls School In Afghanistan With $$$ From Her Jewelry Line!

angelina jolie funds afghan school with jewelry collection(1)

How cool!

Angelina Jolie just opened an all-girls school in Afghanistan that was funded by her jewelry line, Style of Jolie, and we think this is magnificent!!

The Tourist actress' new school in located outside of Kabul, and according to Jolie, she stationed it there because of the high refugee population and because the area typically favors male education over female studies.

Miz Jolie said:

“Beyond enjoying the artistic satisfaction of designing these jewels, we are inspired by knowing our work is serving the mutual goal of providing for children in need."

About 300 girls are already attending the school, and with Angelina's line expanding, she plans on giving 100 percent of the proceeds to her new foundation, The Education Partnership for Children of Conflict.

Excited about this wonderful feat, the starlet's collaborator and jewelry designer Robert Procop noted:

“We launched this collaborative collection with the intent that 100 percent of the profits will go to charity. The intention was to create something beautiful but more importantly to provide children an opportunity to have an education.”

And their plan has definitely flourished into what the duo wanted it to be!!

Congrats you two!

BIG FUCKING DEAL, why don't these bitch ass people spend some of their "get on TV money" in our fucking country.

  2. 2

LOL! She designed these jewels just like she wrote In the Land of Blood and Honey! The woman is a complete fraud! How do you start a school when you're uneducated? It's like bringing a bottle of wine to a dinner party, and the hosts are experts and you know nothing about wine. What is her plan when the Taliban re-emerges? Will she be St. Angelina then?

Style of Jolie. How pretentious. I wonder will she sell necklaces with vials of blood?

I still crack up laughing every time I see that picture of her with her skinny leg sticking out. She should have practice before a mirror before she tried that trick.

WOW. some people are so heartless. I think helping people is awesome. Especially people who would probably never ever have a chance,

Re: raypearson – Thanks I agree, lot of schools in the US that could use that money, programs being cut, overcrowded classrooms, etc.

Maybe she might want to sponsor an arts program, since arts and music have been pretty
much cut from most public schools.

Re: raypearson – This is a big deal, girls are extremely disadvantaged in Afghanistan and lots don't get to go to school at all. Girls trying to get an education there are often subject to getting attacked, poisoned and ridiculed daily. Our country has a public school system that requires children male or female to go to school. Helping anyone to an education is a big fucking deal, asshole

It's awesome that she did that with the money. She is helping people who would never have had a chance otherwise because they don't live in a developed country. Just by living in the States, kids here have an upper hand. My parents and sister and I came to the States with one suitcase each when I was ten, none of us spoke English, and we lived in a one-bedroom attic for years. Now, 12 years later, we have a small house and both my sister and I worked hard, learned English within a few months and got academic scholarships (we are not minorities so don't even play that card) and both went to private colleges (I even went out of state). It makes me so angry when people complain about not getting handouts when they have lived here and were born here. There is absolutely nothing stopping anyone in this country (apart from obvious reasons like domestic abuse and the like) to make something of him or herself. People just like to sit on their asses and complain. So I think what Angelina did is great. She is giving kids a chance because unlike the kids here, those kids would NOT have gotten one otherwise. So shut up and stop whining. Get a grip.

Lmao people will always find reasons to hate this woman no matter what she does. Knock it off with the jealousy you assholes, shes a beautiful person inside and out.

Re: teeter totter – So bitch about the other celebrities that do NOTHING with their millions to hand over their money instead of chewing someone out for giving it to a cause that you dont agree with.

    Re Raypearson

If Angelina is a resident of California, she is already paying about 67% of everything she makes to the State, and Federal Government
We all have seen how our tax $$$$ get pissed away,
I'M sure is she is involved with a school, she will keep an eye on what's happening
I believe she truly cares about helping people
And unlike Oprah's school for girls, the students at Jolie's will not be sexually assaulted by the bull dyke teachers

They're plenty of schools in the United States that could've used that money. Why support her if she will send everything to Afghanistan which is where many of our fallen soldiers have passed away? Kind of a slap to the face if you ask me but it's her money.

  14. 14

Wow people are so hateful… Congratulation Angelina. You're amazing.

Re: teeter totter – Please give Ms Jolie a break! After all she is not the not the only rich cerebrity from the US. Ask stingy chinniston to stop spending on buying toyboys, removing wrinkles trying to look younger than her age! Wake up Americans and stop posting nasty comments about Angie. There are even more richest Hollywood wannabes who never want to part with their money! Angie will always remain Angie and no Mother Teresa but she is doing more than a lot to the needy. Leave her aloone!

  18. 18

I don't even like Angelina that much, but I think she really means well.
    Give her a break.
She's trying to do something for other people.
That's something most of you can't say.

  19. Me says – reply to this

Brad and Angie have done much in this country as well. People in the US can get off their butts and change their lives because there are lots of options for them to receive a hand-up. There are many organizations that they have access to. Women in Afghanistan have no organization that will help them and their country sure won't and can't do anything about that right now. Anything that may improve our relations in the Middle East and is help others is what this world needs right now.

  20. 20

She's such a phony. There are plenty of causes (and CHILDREN) in this country who need help. She needs to get off her "let me pretend to care about the world so everyone will forget I am a homewrecking skank" high horse and help people in her own country.

In spite of the good intentions, I hope these girls don't pay the price for attending if you know what I mean. The road to hell and all that. Their solely patriarchal views are archaic and oppressive toward women to the nth degree out of a need to control. The only thing that would work there long term is a long term and heavily funded t.v. public relations campaign, or basically guerilla marketing highlighting the massive societal benefits garnered from furthering women's lots both educationally and economically.

  22. 22

Yes, but when will the Afghans blow up the school to prevent their girls from getting educated? Angelina is a wonderful humanitarian and shining example of womanhood. Go Team Angie!!
