33 High School Students Suspended For Twerking!

| Filed under: Tacky & TrueTeensDanceEducational

When 33 members of the senior class of Scripps Ranch High School have to explain to their families why they wouldn't be picking up their diplomas at graduation, they had to refer to Urban Dictionary!

The students were suspended, prevented from walking at graduation, and banned from prom, all for twerking!

Well, that and making a VIDEO of it!

Ch-ch-check out the video (above) to see what got 32 female dancers and one male coach of the "Twerk Team" in trouble!

The students are accused of breaking the school's sexual harassment policy, which according to the SRHS handbook, includes any "verbal, visual, or physical conduct of a sexual nature made by someone from or in the educational setting."

The punishment is causing quite a bit of controversy, in and out of the high school, and we can see why!

We hate to see kids punished for dancing, but then again this is hardly the plot of Footloose!

What do U think??

Just to clarify this, the majority of the people suspended were JUNIORS

Majority of the students weren't seniors and the guy in the video wasn't coaching them all they wanted to do was make a twerk video and my school blew the whole thing out of proportion.

That is so stupid that they got suspended. All that video calls for is a lecture and a detention at most.

Unfortunately this is the price you pay for explicit content, everyone is clearly under age and it's a hard lesson to learn.

I don't know if they should be suspended, but they should be embarrassed for participating in such an unflattering video. Being sexy and feeling confident is one thing… this here, is not that.

the video was no big deal. and the cheer and dance teams at SRHS do moves that are just as suggestive as the video being complained about. i think it was the music that got the administration in a tizzy.

For what it's worth, my office worker's daughter is a junior there and I am sure she is in the THICK of it. She and her little friends are so sexualized it's disgusting. They out-do each other for how few clothes they can wear. The stuff they wear to school is outrageous, the dresses they wear to their hundreds of dances are outrageous. These are very sexual young women who haven't had sex. So they really don't understand their bodies except that the bodies are all amazing. They look great so they must be great, right? I think the video should have been left up for a hundred years so they can always go back and see themselves and realized what fucktards they are and how young and minx-like they are.

The video was a disgusting display of how girls will do anything to get noticed. No respect for themselves. It doesn't matter if you are a freshman to a senior, it was an immature way to get noticed and be duped that sex sells. If you don't respect yourselves, you have no right to ask a man to respect you. I'm agnostic, so this is not religion talking, I am a woman talking from experience. I also excel in arts and I don't care if you are a dancer….dancing is a career, you want to do that on a pole, your career will be a short one, you need to ask yourselves one day what you want to be remembered for. I bet it won't be this video when your own children look at it one day. Respect yourselves and grow the he** up. You people are supposed to be the next generation of leaders.

Suspended under sexual harrassment? Not sure who exactly that was harrassing

  13. 13

Re: Kristie – Um a bunch of underage girls doing simulated sex or thrusting as fast as they can upside down with some guy's head in between their legs on the high school's walls… Yeah that's pretty much sexual harassment of the entire school, faculty, and families. If this was done at a work setting everyone would be fired and sued, which makes it even more inappropriate since it was at a School with Children.
Wow, the decadence of society. Go do your homework and do something with your life instead of behaving worse than animals, kids.

Good. I'm 21 and when we were in high school we didn't wear leggings and prop our legs up and out and 'twerk' have some class for yourself. God.

You people are way to DRAMATIC. FOH its a video that has girls shaking their butts. Big Deal. The only reason people were suspended because it was a black guy in it the whole time and the music. They just didn't want their school to have an image like most "urban" schools do. NOT A BIG DEAL AT ALL unless your some preppy upper class or some religious zealot of a parent.

It's no wonder why other countries are kicking our ass in math and science. I don't care what grade they're in. All those girls look dumb, thirsty, and stupid.

    17

I think this looks ridiculous. These girls look like complete strippers. And they can’t be no more than 16 or 17. Wow…I’m sure their parents are so embarrassed right now. Why did they think this was appropriate at school? A line has to be drawn between having fun and being indecent.

Vivid is lining up 32 contracts for future videos. Lexington Steele is polishing his knob as we speak.

This is disgusting and I'm glad they were punished. If I saw a video like this that MY kid was in…I would be busting some heads. Then again, I hope I raise my daughters to not be trashy fools.

  20. 20

Re: chiefy – If you don't understand how this is inappropriate especially in the context of a high school and minors… don't go near children.
People aren't being dramatic they are having reasonable reactions, the people who think it's nothing are the ones that are DESENSITIZED.

wtf they were just dancing? Haven't they watched TV or movies in past 10 years? I mean hypersexualization has practically became American Culture…. This whole country is falling apart nothing make sense anymore….

c'mon. you girls are better than this. and you dudes crouching beside them like they belong to you? man up and respect them.

  24. 24

Ladies, this dance is absolutely disgusting. Had my 16 yr old daughter participated in this, she'd have more punishment than the suspension. You seriously need to get your head out of your azz's and worry about your education. Not how sexy you think you look. Believe me, you didn't look sexy. You looked trashy and easy.

  25. Ash says – reply to this

    25

If that were my daughter I would bust her ass. Period. And if you think there is nothing wrong with this video you are obviously not a parent.
