pierce brosnan daughter charlotte brosnan dies ovarian cancer sad adopted

This is just so sad!!!

Charlotte Brosnan, adopted daughter of former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan, died on Friday.

The 41-year-old mother of two succumbed to ovarian cancer after fighting courageously against the horrible illness for three years.

Pierce released this statement:

"On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, her children Isabella and Lucas and her brothers Christopher and Sean. Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

Ugh!!! She was taken from her friends and family far too soon!!

Our sincerest thoughts and well wishes go out to Charlotte's children, surviving husband, father, and everyone else affected by this awful tragedy.

Ovarian cancer is the same disease that killed her mother and Pierce's first wife Cassandra Harris in 1991.

Why do you have to put adopted? It's his daughter, period, point blank. It doesn't matter if that came to be by blood or adoption. Remove the word from your title you assholes.

I agree with Ashley..so sick of hearing "adopted child" of whomever. They were their child, whether born to or adopted by. You'd think Perez of all people would sensitive to this, since his son wasn't exactly created "traditionally".

Please do not refer to her as his "adopted" daughter. She was his daughter. How she became so is irrelevant. I'm an adoptive Mom and can never imagine referring to my son as "my adopted son." I bet you can't imagine referring to your son as your adopted son, either. He's your kid. Period.

It's so sad that there are therapies and treatments out there that can help beat ovarian and other cancers, but can't reach the general population because of lack of funding. Check out AVAX Technologies and their work in the cancer field. The company needs funding to move its trials forward, but it has been unsuccessful in securing such funding thus far.

When are they going to develop a test for this ghastly disease? CA125? So sad. Some people honestly do suffer more than others, but Pierce has always conducted his life with dignity.

I think they said ADOPTED because she was 41, and Pierce seems a bit too young (still) to have a 41 year old daughter
If you remember his first wife, her mother was a bit older than Pierce
He seems like one of the good guys,
and I'M sure this brings it all back about the loss of his wife, which had really never gotten over

Nope. He was old enough. Same age difference as between me and my mom, and no matter how much I wish for it, I am not adopted!

So sad. FYI- there's no need to identify her as his "adopted daughter" unless the adoption pertains directly to the story. For the purposes of this story, she's his daughter - no modifier needed !!!!

Ovarian Cancer is very real, and another reason to be careful with your health. Check out AbdoMend.com for binders to use if your having surgery. Always ask your Dr to feel your abdomend if you have bloating, diarreah, and pain……Be well our hearts go out to the family.

Thanks for deleting "adopted" as the qualifier before "daughter"! That was awesome that you listened! Thank you!!

No reason to call her his "adopted" daughter. You can be such an ass at times.

There IS a need to refer to her as his adopted daughter. It's a fact, and this is a news article, it belongs here.

I think the real issue here is how sad it is that she died from the same disease her mother did, and the same age (a year younger than her mother). Her grandmother also died from this disease. She was regularly tested but I always wonder f the Dr's tell them the correct timeline re testing as pap smears in England they recommend every 4 years which is ridiculous. How sad, & if one of her children is a daughter it will be difficult for her in the future

I hate to read all the articles on how AMAZINGLY suportive Pierce was with his duaghter. Here are a couple of FACTS…. Pierce did not visit his daughter for a whole year after she got Cancer. He HAD originally expressed a desire to help his daughter, but it was his wife 'KEELY' (the villain in this piece) who REFUSED to allow him to offer any financial support in any way. Not with medical expenses or even with some kind of support of her family, the WHOLE time she was sick. (3 years). Not even money for some childcare support. KEELY claiming, "they didn't have the money." All the while Pierce and Keely have been spending VAST amounts of money building their MULTI MILLION dollar MANSION in Malibu over the last 4 years. I know this for FACT as I have been a family friend to Charlotte for many years. I saw her and her family go through the hard ships and struggles of dealing with Cancer while supporting a family, On their own!!!!
Thank God.. another family friend stepped into help Charlotte out when Pierce and Keely said NO !!!!!!!!
    Shame on them.
