Paris Jackson: Is Lack Of Discipline To Blame For Suicide Attempt???

| Filed under: Sad SadTeensMental HealthFamilyParis Jackson

paris jackson uncle jermaine jackson says lack of discipline could have led to suicide attempt

Paris Jackson is reportedly doing much better as she recovers from a suicide attempt, and there's still some speculation as to why she decided to try and end her life. However, one theory is that there was a major lack of discipline in her household.

Her uncle, Jermaine Jackson recently spoke out about the tragic events involving his niece, and he feels the whole thing was a major overreaction to her being told she couldn't go to a Marilyn Manson concert, which allegedly sparked a huge fight that same night.

He says the whole thing probably could have been avoided if Paris had a little more respect for the rules:

"She has to learn there are certain guidelines when you grow up being a teenager. There are rules."

Jermaine also feels that a lack of discipline could have led to her reaction:

"Things could have been enforced a little stronger."

We're not exactly sure if this is the best time to be pointing the finger of blame considering his niece is recovering from a VERY traumatic experience.

There's a lot more to the equation than a teenager simply throwing a fit over a concert, as Paris is still grieving the death of her father, Michael Jackson.

Right now, it's much more important for Jermaine to show support for her and the rest of his family instead of criticizing them for their lack of discipline.

Totally no one to blame! It's her choice to behave this way.

Dont mean to sound harsh and the girl does have her problems BUT she is beautiful, rich and with a famous name that can open doors to whatever she wants in life. Maybe she needs to be reminded that most people in the world do NOT have those benefits.

  3. 3

Even if the immediate cause of her attempt was her not being allowed to attend a concert, making this an extreme teenage tantrum, in a way, there would almost certainly be serious underlying issues. Ongoing counseling well away from the family, it is to be hoped.

that family all STILL suck on the financial tit of the girls dead father. Maybe there should have been DISCIPLINE with all the hangers-on living within their own means. And WHY air out the family dirty laundry in public to gossip shit rags?

Re: shanghai – so pretty people have no right to be depressed? Her father is dead. Her family are like blood sucking vampires. every move she makes is photographed. every time she spits she's judged. her mother was paid to have the child. Tell me when to stop. The whole family has no discipline.

She's a teen and teen's tend to rebel, especially when they don't get what they want. But, she's a rich, entitled, spoiled teen who has been indulged since birth so, when she wants something, "no" is not acceptable. I tend to think most of her "issues" are simply teen drama. I'm glad, however that she is receiving help in case she really is mental.

What a douche. She was hospitalized for days after the attempt. This was no overblown teenage tantrum over not going to a concert. In spite of her money, name, status, the fact remains she lost her father at a young age. That is rough but on top of that, her father was one of the most famous people in the world- who many people thought and still believe to be a pedophile. I'm sure she gets crap about that regularly. Add in the multiple lawsuits and her family's obsession with money and you have a lost and lonely little girl. Jermaine needs to sit down and STFU.

Jermaine needs to shut the f*ck up and sit his dumb a*s the f-ck down. You have NO idea what it's like to be suicidal so shut up until you have been through it. Stupid jacka*s.

Jermaine Jackson's comments regarding suicide are disturbingly ignorant and uneducated. When a person attempts suicide they're in a very depressed mental state, feeling desperate and like there is no other way to end the tremendous pain they are feeling. Saying she attempted suicide because she couldn't go to a concert is such a vapid and superficial comment, I'm stunned he was stupid enough to say it publicly.

Jermaine's comments are so insensitive and destructive, it's pretty obvious why Paris felt so alone and deeply depressed. The family members around her are unfit, selfish, money obsessed leeches and the faster Paris can move away from them, the better.

Jermaine has a point about limits for teenagers, but someone also needs to look at things from Paris' point of view. There is nothing inherently 'satanic' about seeing Marilyn Manson. Manson's concerts are mostly metal schtick, just like RAP concert schtick. It's still just a different slant on the music biz and marketing. Face it; Paris is a white chick. She's going to love rock and metal at her age. I did, and still do, but I also loved R & B, but also liked the Jacksons and anything Motown. As long as she was dropped off and picked up by a caregiving adult, let her go with a couple of friends. I wouldn't go see RAP anything, and the lyrics are violent and anti-women, but if I had an older kid that liked it and wanted to go see a concert, I'd arrange it with pickup at the door later. I saw any concert I liked at her age; and you know what they said about rock music, lol. She's getting older, loosen up; an 84 year old will read things into something that aren't there, and may be too restrictive. Jermaine could talk to her after and help interpret anything dark that she saw and tell her it's show for bucks,
like Alice Cooper's over the top stuff.

I mean, as long as a kid is being agreeable around the home, doing a few chores, and getting decent marks, they should be able to spread their wings. It's a mutual respect deal.

I don't care how rick or entitled you are, you don't take a meat cleaver to your arm because you were told "no". To react in such an extreme way shows that at the very least there must be some underlying issues going on.

For Jermaine or ANY of the Jackson clan to say something like this shows that they don't take Paris Jackson's struggles seriously, and are not giving her the true support she needs to bounce back.

    This worries me greatly.

Re: Lady Amalthea – True that. How many times was Paris told no before she snapped? Being raised by an 84 year old as a teenager is no picnic, no matter how much love and well meaning abound. Katherine is an amazing human being, but generation gap is generation gap. Kids need to grow, and they let you know what they wish to do. Going to a concert would be accomodating interaction with life and popular culture. If the concert message is dark, kids also learn from that and that the tunes are fun, but the message is say, too dark for them. She's bright, and is capable of being discerning. I saw Cooper once; loved the music, but decided the blood and gore theatre was over the top and Hollywood. Kids learn to form their own opinions, and that some things don't really apply to them and that's a lesson too.

I feel bad for this kid. Losing her Dad at such a young age can really mess you up. Be that as it may I would have to agree. She needs tough love in my opinion.

I really don't think he should be talking about her to the media.

If Michael were alive, he would have probably let her go to the concert with a bunch of body guards, shrouded in veil, and reserved a dark, private, oblivious corner for her to sit like a lady.

This article does speak some truth. The family's top priority should be what is truly the best thing for Paris to start the healing process and not about pointing fingers as to who is to blame for all of this. Although it sounds like Jermaine is blaming his mother, Katherine.

Maybe Jermaine should raise Prince, Paris and Blanket and we'll see how that one works out. I like Jermaine but I reckon he'd be a push over as a parent. The kids would get away with murder.

Jermaine sounds like a hypocrite. For starters he hasn't raised teenagers, given that all his ex's had custody by the time their kids grew to that age. Then we have Jermaine's own lack of discipline regarding not paying child support. He left the financial burden of providing for his own kids to his younger brother/Paris' father, and even tried to get his estate to continue paying for him after Michael died. Then we have the issue from last summer where Jermaine (along with some of his siblings) refused to let the kids speak to their own guardian, and essentially threw Paris (his minor niece) under the bus. The public backlash she received (for the wrong actions of adults) must have been excruciating for the girl. I don't think she's been the same after that, who would be after experiencing such a thing at a young age? And then there was the incident where Jermaine's child acquired a STUN GUN by ordering it ONLINE because he wasn't monitored and had access to a credit card to do so. So, Jermaine is not the person to be doling out talk of discipline.

According to Alan Duke form CNN, the concert issue was not the reason for her attempt, and apparently this wasn't a sudden issue that arose out of nowhere. What this girl needs right now is love, support, and privacy (something that's been sorely lacking in her life for 4 years now). Having your uncle gossiping about you after a a suicide attempt to a tabloid, definitely isn't going to help.

"Right now, it's much more important for Jermaine to show support for her and the rest of his family instead of criticizing them for their lack of discipline." Shut up, you idiot homo. The truth is ALWAYS the most important thing, because without it no treatment can work. You just love to whitewash shit, don't you? That kid you bought is going to end up a fucking mess because of you. I hope he hates your guts.
    .
This darkie has zero business preaching discipline. If he had any himself, he wouldn't be the financial leech he is. He wouldn't have bred kids he can't afford to support. He's probably right; there isn't any real discipline in the household, and that has to be addressed. But what also has to be addressed is how fucked up her world became after her father died. I truly feel for Paris Jackson.
