Kate Middleton Had An 11-Hour Birth With NO Painkillers!

kate middleton 11 hour labor natural birth

Talk about a real trooper!

Kate Middleton must have nerves of steel because when it was finally time to deliver baby Prince George, she was drug free!

That’s right! The entire 11-hour labor was painkiller-less, and at the end she delivered the baby naturally just like she wanted.

It seems like all of those calming yoga sessions helped too because word is that Kate was as calm as could be.

There were four midwives there to make sure the Duchess was a-okay, and doctor Marcus Setchell was also in the hospital with her.

We guessed that everything went smoothly because no sooner had we heard about Prince George then we got to meet him!

This is just so impressive! It’s always great when mothers get to give birth the way they want to, because that certainly isn't always the case.

70-80% of births in Europe, Asia, Australia, France, etc. are delivered naturally (and with midwives instead of doctors) while less than 1% are delivered that way in the US, which has the HIGHEST death rate for mothers and newborns than ANY OTHER developed country. I highly recommend watching the documentaries: The Business of Being Born and Pregnant in America before you start saying that she delivered just like every other mom…. seriously. It will shock you with the information.

Taking the drugs to give birth more comfortably doesn't make it less impressive.
    Welcome to 2013.

yup 19 hours for me no pain killers and a 10 lb baby. women are built for this kind of stuff!

If she would've had painkillers, would that have made her a bad person? Fuck you Perez. People need to stop pushing women in "natural" childbirth. If you need meds, that is FINE. Do what you need to do. I'm so sick of "if you don't use meds, you're a fucking saint and should be put on a pedestal" shit, you're damn awesome either way because you made and carried a human being for nine months and delivered a baby at the end. Meds or not.

This IS a BIG deal, so many people look up to these celebrities. With so many famous celebrities birthing their children via C section at THEIR convenience it's nice to finally see someone wait patiently for childbirth to happen, use no drugs or painkillers AND not get a tummy tuck right after is wonderful. Many peoplelook up to Kate and it is a refreshing change to see her choose to do what is best for her child. She showed George to the world a day afterhe was born to avoid paparazzi trying to chase them down trying to get a photo instead of keeping him under wraps until they found the highest bidder. Kate did everything she did to make sure HE was happy, healthy and was in no danger. That unfortunately is not the norm but hats off to her!

Re: OhGlob! – Absolutely. And same goes about breastfeeding vs. formula.

    Stiff upper lip Kate!

Re: melancholia – Your comment is a COMPLETE LIE! There is an extremely low mortality rate during labor in the US, as in most developed countries. If the US is a tiny percent higher than other developed countries, that doesn't make it the most dangerous! Complete and total MISINFORMATION! Shame on you!

It's "trouper" not "trooper." "Talk about a real trouper." ty

Re: choxchix – I agree. Doing it natural and walking out the next day is wonderfully refreshing. Hopefully, Kate's actions will end all the stupid comparisons to Kim K.

I was in labor 25 hours with two 8 pound twins who were 30 minutes apart. Had them natural. It hurt like poo! There's nothing wrong with epidurals (coming from a nurses point of view), I just wanted to have my twins without one.

Good for her to put her baby first! My mother went through all three of her labors with NO pain medicine! And I took almost 48 hours to deliver!!!! Too many times, little wussy women want to pump crap into their system which can harm their babies. BUT there are women who NEED the pain medicine. Their bodies can freak out on them w/o the mom having any control whatsoever and they have to do something to control it. It can actually harm the baby more when a momma's body starts shutting down from the pain.

Good for her, my sister was in labor for 40 hours before they finally did a Caeserian. Give me the drugs anytime. TY.

Re: Love Lilly Pu – Actually, you are very wrong about this. The US maternal mortality rate (the women who die around the time of birth) is the WORST of any developed nation. We're losing more moms than nearly 50 other countries. It's shameful. Do an ounce of research and you'll find that's true.

Re: NinfaTurtle – that's where you're wrong. C sections are dangerous and taking drugs during the birth can cause irreversible damage to the baby. They cause the contractions to be harder than they would ever be normally and creates an unbelievable amount of stress on the baby. All for the mothers convenience? You put the childs health at risk for a few hours of pain free? Childbirth is not supposed to be numbed down.

Re: OhGlob! – he isn't saying she is a better person for doing it that way, he is saying natural childbirth is very difficult and it is impressive she did it without drugs. but nowhere does he say it is good or bad either way! he does say its nice she got to give birth how she wanted to, because some women who want to give birth naturally can't due to complications or want drugs and can't because they are too far along. I suggest you read more carefully before you throw around vulgar insults.

Re: Gina – Stupid liar! WHy don't you do some research!

Re: THE BIGRAGU – THAT IS A BIG LIE !!!!!!! No need to be a fool and suffer with no [ain medication. I had TWO kids BOTH with an epidural to numb the pain. My kids were both ALERT,HEALTHY,NO PROBLEMS ! Any one who makes a woman feel bad or worry about pain meds is a LYING JERK.

  23. 23

Re: OhGlob! – I agree. It's B.S. I had two kids and had epidurals both times. My kids were alert, healthy and UNAFFECTED by my pain medication. Only a fool would go without pain meds.

THIS IS NOT TRUE!! Our press are saying 'Natural Childbirth' as opposed to the C-SECTION celebrities have a few weeks prior to giving birth to avoid excessive weight gain and damage during the birth. THIS DOES NOT MEAN SHE WENT DRUG FREE, it just means she pushed. Our press would have a field day if she had opted for a C-section!!
