Kids these days!

John Mellencamp's two teenage sons have gone off and allegedly done something very bad — they've both been charged with felony battery in Indiana, because they violently and brutally attacked a 19 year old who was SITTING ON HIS FRONT PORCH.

The police say that Speck, 18, and Hud, 19 went to the victim's home on July 29 with Ty Smith, who is the son of Indiana University baseball coach Tracy Smith. What happened next was straight out of an awful and disturbing movie: they unleashed on the victim, all of them kicking, punching, and violently attacking the unsuspecting 19 year old!

Luckily, the roommates inside of the house heard their friend's screams and went to break up the fight! The victim suffered facial fractures and cuts that required stitches by that time, though.

Why did they do this? Apparently it was revenge for an incident that took place at a party earlier that night. THAT incident involved a fight between two girls "over Speck," who was trying to break it up. That's when he was pushed and hit by someone — there's no confirmation if that someone was the extremely injured victim.

REGARDLESS, it should have never happened! What's wrong with people?? Hud is even a trained boxer!

Violence is NEVER EVER the answer!

Didn't one of them just punch their father as well?

Love John BUT with names like Speck and Hud, they were at a disadvantage to start. Celebs are so self absorbed, they don't have a clue what ridiculous names ("Inspektor Pilot and uh, North come to mind) will do to a kid.

Also, John's now divorced from their mother and who knows how much he's involved with their lives.
