We're eagerly anticipating Drake's new album Nothing Was the Same, which comes out later this month, but now things just got a little sweeter.
Drake is letting someone very close to him sing with him on a bonus track - and that person is his dad Dennis Graham!
Turns out, musical talent runs through their family's veins as, according to Drake, his dad is quite the crooner. He recently spoke about good ol' pops, while also revealing which bonus track he'll be lending his voice on:
"My dad is a star, that’s what you have to understand. I can call my dad right now and be like, 'Yo, dad, I need you to fly to shoot.' He’s always down. I’m living my dad’s dream. My dad wanted to be a famous singer. I have my dad on another bonus record on the album called Heat Of The Moment."
He also opened up about their relationship, saying:
"It’s a real relationship. Not to be ironic, we go through the motions of a father-son relationship. Right now, he happens to be extremely stable and content, and I take care of what I can for him.
Like any other family, there have been dark times. There have been other interviews where I was asked about my dad and I didn’t want to talk about it…But at the end of the day, he is a great man and I love him very much."
Drake's been very forthcoming about their tumultuous relationship in the past, with some honest lyrics about his father in Look What You've Done.
We're so happy that they've been able to reconnect and create beautiful music together. Let's hope this trend continues!
