Is it safe? Or is not safe? That IS the question!
Heidi Klum's super expensive baby strollers, 330 dollars to be exact, have been deemed unsafe by Consumer Reports because its safety latch did not stay latched during two thirds of their tests! So they slapped her strollers with a Don't Buy sticker.
Which means a lot of people probably won't buy Klum's strollers!
So the supermodel mommy, who uses the strollers to push around her own kids (above), has gone on damage control to try and convince people to keep buying her product!
“As a mother of four, safety is obviously a top priority for me. We only partner with companies that have consistently demonstrated their commitment to meeting the highest standards for the products they manufacture. When I heard this news today, we immediately contacted [the manufacturer] Dorel Juvenile and I will continue to follow up and make sure they are addressing any concerns."
The safety tests experts applied 45 pounds of force on the stroller, the equivalent of hitting a curb, and the stroller's right side buckle popped open ten out of fifteen times. It was the only stroller out of 100 that was deemed unsafe.
Even though it has been slapped with the Don't Buy tag, Toys ‘R’ Us is still selling the The Truly Scrumptious Travel System stroller on their website. Although it IS marked down to $220!
The website ad for the stroller is as follows:
“Get rolling in comfort and convenience with the Truly Scrumptious Travel System by Heidi Klum!”
If any parents have bought the stroller and have lost the receipt - don't worry! The detachable car seat off the stroller has no safety issues, so at least parents can still use that!
