Brad Pitt is so proud of his new movie, 12 Years A Slave, that he would show it to his oldest child, Maddox, age 12, because of how important of a film it is.
And guess what? We're hearing that Brad isn't just being full of himself here. We're hearing the movie IS incredible!
The movie is the true story of Solomon Northup, a free black man from NY who is abducted and sold into slavery — Brad plays Bass, a Canadian who works on the plantation where Northup is sent.
Here's what Brad had to say about the film:
"It's why I got into film in the first place. It's one of those few films that cuts to the base of our humanity."
And it's that reason that he would let his 12 year old son watch it:
"Maybe my eldest I would, right now. I'd rather for the others to get a little bit older and understand the dynamics of the world a little more."
As long as you're willing to help guide your kids, teach them about movies and real life, and how historical things actually happened, we don't see a problem with this at all!
Especially as Maddox seems to be ready to learn about such things in history class anyway!
Plus, we're really impressed with how proud Brad Pitt is of this movie! His dedication to it alone makes us want to see it, but then there are all the other fab reasons as well!
We hope Maddox loves the experience!
