Bereaved Father Turns Dead Son's Ashes Into A Diamond!

bereaved father turns dead sons ashes into a diamond

We're shocked that this is a thing!

A father from Italy, mourning the loss of his 20-year-old son, chose to have his son's remains turned into a diamond!

The Italian poppa exhumed and cremated his son, who died in a car accident, before sending the ashes off to a Swiss company that specializes in what they call Remembrance Diamonds.

The rings cost $18,000 and the process involves the refinement and filtering of the carbon found in ashes. After that, it's moved to a specialized chamber where the diamond is eventually created.

After about 8 months, the father then received the ring where he's been able to remember his son in style and in sentiment ever since.

It sounds a bit bizarre, not to mention expensive, but if it's what the father wanted then he has the right to choose how to remember his son.

No more weird than having an urn with your mother's ashed sit over the chimney.

I think it's quite a nice tribute to his son!

Is it weird to think that's quite nice? I like that idea better than having an urn.

I wish I would've known this could be done when I had the money. I put my mama's Mother's ring in with her but would LOVE to wear her proudly on my finger(which has the only vein that runs straight to the heart).

Old news you can do this and I think it's a very good way to have your loved one always with you - and much less weird than having the ashes at home which I also don't think it's weird. chaqu'un a son goût as we say in Switzerland

I love this idea - it has been going on from a Canadian company for over 5 years. I'd rather that than ashes.

So much for "rest in piece". My family NOT allowed to do this to me. I will let my mom know.
My body is to go into the family crypt. I dont want future great great grand children pawning my body off.
