At least the truth has finally come out.
Wow, how awful.
The sad truth was revealed in the documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

And THIS is a great example of why humanity will be just fine!
Amber Martin is 16 years old, and she's already had to face way more than any teenager should — she has had cancer more than once. Six years after her first fight, her astrocytoma (a type of brain cancer) came out of remission.
Amber had just lost her father to cancer three years earlier, so she returned home to fight once again and she nixed the idea of prom altogether.
Here's what he mother said. We can't even imagine:
“Amber wanted to attend the prom with her new boyfriend, Austin, but unfortunately, her cancer is terminal, so that’s not possible. So we made her wish known to some friends. We were hoping to do this very small and intimate, but with everyone getting involved and the donations we’ve gotten, it has turned into the night of her dreams.”
Hearing those words "her cancer is terminal" just destroys us. We're SO happy that she has dedicated friends, and a dedicated boyfriend, to make her time the best it can be!
And those dedicated friends? Yeah, they turned into a 200 person prom committee!
On the big night, Austin picked her up in a giant party bus complete with police escort and took them to the big reveal: her 200 friends dressed in purple and black – Amber's favorite colors.
She spent the night like a normal teen at prom. She snacked, danced, sang, and had so much fun!
She and her boyfriend were even crowned Prom King and Queen!
She said simply:
“I love it. I love my life. I love everyone. This is the best day of my life.”
We wish her nothing but the best — and we are SO glad she was able to have that night.
Amber, you are amazing!
