At 14 years old, sometimes you can do incredible things.
You can be well mannered, and you can care for things in the world like an adult — and it really does seem like Sharon Hart's 14-year-old son is one of those more mature, wiser teens!
Sharon was battling what she thought was the stomach flu, but it ended up being Acute Myloid Leukemia. She's been fighting the blood cancer in a Chicago hospital since, starting chemotherapy right away.
That's when her son, William, decided his mom needed some cheering up!
The snowy rooftop with the scrawled message instantly lit up his mom's mood, and the mood of countless others at the hospital! William and his dad used their feet to write in the snow a massive message of love and support!
After seeing the sweet message, Sharon said:
"He said come come to the window, he was so excited. I pulled up the window and it said 'Hi mom' with a smiley face and all."
William admits it was his idea, even though his dad helped him:
"I just kind of thought, 'You know, it would be great to have my mom see this message. And so I started from there, and my dad was like, 'What are you doing?' And he joined in. I said, 'I'm saying hi to mom,' and we went on from there. "
The best part of this is when William and his dad left the hospital around 10pm, they could see lots of patients looking out at the message — and they decided that it wasn't enough.
Here's what William's sister said:
"Dad had the idea to write Gold Bless You All. But it couldn't fit, so it says God Bless You, but it's still something everybody could see."
Flawless — this makes us smile so big!!
The parking garage ended up needing to be plowed for more parking room, but it was done with hesitation. At least it was amazing while it lasted!
