We're so glad to hear some good news.
Bachelor winner Shayne Lamas has been having a tough couple of weeks. She lost her baby in a unfortunate pregnancy complication, and has subsequently been in the hospital with a number of setbacks in terms of her own health.
But, her and her family have finally have had a break from tragedy as Shayne Lamas has officially been released from the Mission Viejo hospital's ICU unit, and is now on her way towards recovering.
She released on a statement on Thursday, and said:
"Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. I've cried reading the expression of generosity and warmth from everyone. I'm out of ICU at Mission Viejo Hospital. I cannot thank the medical staff here enough for not giving up on me."
The 28-year-old mother of a daughter named Press went on to thank her husband Nik Richie and her father Lorenzo Lamas. She said:
"Thank you to my father and his wife, my mother, my sisters, my grandmother and New York family, my husband's family, and to my husband for never leaving my side. Nik, your strength can never be measured. I love you."
Finally she went on to encourage others to donate blood, and finally dedicated the statement to her lost son Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie. A name her and her husband chose after his death.
"To everyone out there, please donate blood. You can save a life like mine. In loving memory of my son, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie."
Wow, such an extraordinary, heartfelt message. Especially considering how sick she's been these past couple of weeks.
We wish her a speedy recovery, and her and her family strength to pick up the pieces from the traumatic events that have occurred to her family. It'll be hard, but they obviously have the resolve to do it.
