At least the truth has finally come out.
Wow, how awful.
The sad truth was revealed in the documentary, Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck which recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

This year's Oscars was supposed to have a touching moment for one lucky 5-year-old known all over the internet as "Batkid."
He's a 5-year-old cancer survivor and the city of San Francisco made his dream come true when they basically got the entire city to help him be Batman for a day.
More of his dreams were supposed to come true when he was set to take the stage during the Oscars!!
Andrew Garfield was going to dub him Batkid officially! Imagine being dubbed a real superhero by Spider-Man himself!
"The Academy was going to make him an official superhero during the Oscar ceremony. Andrew Garfield was going to appoint him 'Batkid,' but, in the middle of the dress rehearsal, Garfield decided he didn’t like his lines. Garfield refused to go by the script. He came up with his own lines. The producers felt that Garfield’s [rewrites] were not appropriate. Garfield had a tantrum. He stormed off. Miles and his family, who were at the rehearsal, were devastated."
Was that all made up? Or was that just a convenient reason for Garfield to ditch the Oscars?
Either way, we feel awful that Batkid never got to be part of the awards show!
Thankfully, producers paid for him to go to Disneyland instead!
So at least some good came out of it, though we still feel bad Batkid got snubbed! We hope Disneyland was amazing at least.
