Burlington France is getting lots of feedback on one of its ads, but the comments have so far been very negative. As well they should be!
Even though the advertisement commercial, titled Can You Sock Me?, was released in October, it's starting to pick up heat over in the states now.
It features a miscommunication between a mother and her son after the youngster asks his parent if she can "sock" him. The mother then agrees to it, walks over to the son, goes down out of the frame, and the commercial cuts to a picture of a sock.
Well, the double-entendre joke did NOT escape viewers' notice! However most folks were not pleased with the commercial.
On the company's Facebook page, one user wrote:
"Fock you, Burlington. Child molestation jokes aren't a good way to sell your crap."
"Someone looked at this and thought it was a good idea. Think about that for a moment."
We, personally, aren't fans of this video. Definitely a company that doesn't have their pulse on the audience!
