boyfriend of woman who faked quintuplet pregnancy feels totally blindsided still cant believe hes not going to be a father

F is for fake!

Paul Servat was SO ready to be a father.

The man from Montreal was expecting his girlfriend Barbara Bienvenue to be delivering quintuplets any day now. As the due date approached, she began to experience morning sickness and was lactating. He had even asked his friends and family to donate gifts of baby stuff to help them out!

Including a full nursery!

But when Barbara entered the hospital last Wednesday, Paul was shocked to discover that there had never been any evidence of Barbara ever going to the hospital during her pregnancy. When they ran some blood tests, Paul was devastated to learn that Barbara wasn't even pregnant AT ALL, let alone with 5 babies!

Paul STILL can't wrap his head around it — and neither can we! We're not even in the same situation!!

Here's what he recently said:

"She let me choose the names. [Then] the doctors told me it was a phantom pregnancy…I lost everything, it was my whole life."

The two had been dating for two months when last September the woman surprised her boyfriend with some "wonderful" news that she was expecting. She kept up the lie for 34 weeks, and would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for those meddling doctors!

Still, at least one woman knew something was amiss.

Geneviève Laflamme had recently given birth to triplets, and reached out to Barbara. She noticed something was wrong when the woman revealed that at first she thought it was twins, then triplets, and then quadruplets. Then a week before her due date, Barbara Bienvenue said the latest ultrasound revealed it was actually going to be quintuplets.

The woman with the "phantom pregnancy" has relatives who claim this isn't the first time their family member has pulled this. One male relative said:

"This isn't the first time she's done it. But honestly, we never would have thought she was sick enough to do it again."

Wow!

Paul, the devastated father, is working hard to return all of the gifts that people had donated before the fake pregnancy was figured out. He said:

"I'll return all these things to people who sent them or give them (away). I'm a good person and I have nothing to do with these lies."

Hopefully he'll be able to experience fatherhood one day with a woman who doesn't prey on and deceive unsuspecting people.

Although we have NO idea how she expected to get away with this, it must be some deeper issue — and luckily, she has been kept under psychiatric observation where we hope she'll be able to get the help she so obviously needs!

I think it's unfair that you're blaming her for this. You don't know that she was actually lying about it. Especially if she was actually lactating and experiencing symptoms. Phantom pregnancies apcan happen, just like sympathy pregnancies can happen. I'm not saying that there's no way she wasn't lying, I'm just saying it's unfair for you to be blaming her about this. She could be just as devastated as the father.

i'm confused, if she was lying about it (phantom pregnancies do happen) what about the baby bump?

She's a vile witch. Not the first time she did this. Without a sonogram proving quintuplets, and no medical professional telling her so, obviously she was lying and made it all up.

Re: Terra – Actually if she had been truthful about this, she would have been to the doctors and they would have spotted the phantom pregnancy pretty early on (nothing would have shown up on the 10 week ultrasound). She had mental issues and just flat-out made it up.

Re: justme – In phantom pregnancies you get all of the symptoms even though you are not pregnant. Morning sickness, lactating, even a growing bump. It's your brain mimicking pregnancy symptoms because it really thinks you are pregnant even tough you are not.

Ive heard of this before…. Its some kind of mental sickness that some women have. They like to fool everyone into believing that they're pregnant because they enjoy and feed off the attention they receive. Some women have even gone as far as kidnapping newborns to keep people from finding out their lies. So sad really.

Do "phantom pregnancies" also give you "phantom ultrasounds"? These two morons were made for each other.

It is clear this woman suffers from mental illness, very unfortunate for this man. Embarrassing and hurtful- its obvious since it has happened regardless of the amount of times she needs to be evaluated so her destructive behavior comes to and end.

I have a cousin in Japan who had his GF tell him she was pregnant with twins. He was about 45 then. My aunt was not very happy about it as she felt the girl was not from a good family. He was going to marry her. I don't remember how it happened, but it came out she was lying to him in order to get married and then was hoping to get pregnant. My cousin was very upset and, of course, broke up with her.

This woman could have thought she was pregnant and gone through symptoms of phantom pregnancy HOWEVER it should have been discovered there was no pregnancy when she went to a DR!!! Obviously she did not - or it was a REALLY bad Dr!
