When Jack Robinson was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in January, his family knew that he didn't have much time left.
The parents helped their son check off many items from his bucket list including: see a meerkat, ride in a fire engine, and meet a bevy of British celebrities, but before they could complete everything for their son - Jack passed away on April 1st.
Here's what his mother Marie said:
"I wanted his funeral to have a twist, because he was so unique."
So they decided to make the funeral's theme of something Jack absolutely loved - Star Wars!
Here's what family friend Melissa O'Donnell said:
"Jack absolutely loved Star Wars. You would never see him without a lightsaber in his hands, right up to the end. Jack was a lovely little boy, who was always smiling. My mum used to call him the boy with a thousand smiles. It was the loveliest funeral ever. Jack would have loved it."
The funeral featured appearances of more than a dozen Stormtroopers, an R2-D2 was also in attendance, and the young boy's funeral ceremony featured Luke Skywalker's theme from Star Wars: A New Hope.
A beautiful wreath with the words JEDI JACK (above) was also placed on his grave.
It was an incredibly sad yet beautiful day for this young man's family. We know that Jack would've absolutely loved the honors bestowed upon him by his loving family.
Anyone who wants to honor Jack's memory may do so by donating HERE.
