It looks like this case is here is to stay!
We're sure X-Men director Bryan Singer was hoping for a quick resolution to the allegations that he molested and drugged Mr. Michael Egan when he was an underage teenager, but that does not appear to be how this will be going down!
Here's what he said:
“I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Some people don’t have a voice to say that. Some end up dead… No one at a young age ever deserves to go through the horrific junk that I went through as a kid…I had drugs put in drinks, liquor poured down my throat. I was raped numerous times in that house by numerous individuals. You were a piece of meat to these people and they’d pass you around between them. If I had to define that house, I'd call it evil.”
Mr. Egan also claims that he and his mother did in fact did try to file charges against Mr. Singer by getting the police involved back in 1999. The police then brought in the FBI, but nothing ever came from this.
Mr. Egan could not say why police never pursued the charges.
20th Century Fox, the distributor for the film, have released their own statement on the matter. They said:
“These are serious allegations, and they will be resolved in the appropriate forum. This is a personal matter, which Bryan Singer and his representatives are addressing separately.”
Mr. Egan denies that these allegations have anything to do with the release of Mr. Singer's upcoming movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Mr. Egan says Mr. Singer isn't the only "Hollywood type" who he'll be filing charges against, and plans on pursuing at least three or more cases very soon.
