Woman Who Murdered Six Of Her Babies Will NOT Face Death Penalty! Find Out What Technicality Put A Stop To It HERE!

woman who killed babies will not face death penalty

Does the punishment fit the crime??

A Utah woman has been charged with six counts of first degree murder after six infant bodies were found in Megan Huntsman's former garage in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Another deceased infant was found there, as well, but that one is considered to have been stillborn.

Megan had lived in Pleasant Grove up until 2011. The infants found are considered to have been Megan's own.

However, Huntsman cannot face the death penalty because the alleged crimes occurred between 1996-2006, and Utah had only changed its law in 2007 to make it so that the murder of a person under the age of 14 is considered a capital offense.

Before that law was passed, the murder of a child was not considered a factor that made one eligible for the death penalty.

Megan was charged with the counts of first degree murder this past Monday, and it's believed that she killed the infants immediately after they were born. The 39-year-old is currently being held on $6 million bail.

Megan was originally arrested on April 12th after her estranged husband Darren West found one infant body while cleaning out the garage. After police were called to the scene, six more bodies were found. She apparently admitted to police that she strangled or suffocated the babies immediately they were born, and did this for six of the infants while one was born stillborn. Ugh — so hard to hear!

Utah authorities are awaiting DNA tests to confirm that Megan was indeed the mother of the babies, and have also brought in the FBI to assist them with this during their investigation of such an awful crime!

It's hard to believe such monsters exist in this world!

Does the punishment fit the crime?

For someone who claims to be so enlightened and liberal you certainly don't know jack about capital punishment. Supporting the murder a murderer does not bring back the victims. It simply makes you the same monster you're accusing her of being.

Clearly this woman suffers from mental illness. Had she been mentally stable she would NOT have murdered her babies. This is a fact.

Studies also show that capital punishment does NOT deter people from committing murder. It never has, it never will. The fact that murders still happen in States that have capital punishment is proof of this. It also costs more tax dollars to execute someone on death row than it does to keep them imprisoned and alive for the rest of their lives. Who's the winner with capital punishment?

Capital punish is barbaric, hypocritical and a waste of State revenue and resources. State governments should invest more money in the treatment of mental illness, social services and rehabilitation instead of wasting money on murdering criminals.

    Re: dire

No, you have your facts mixed up. Killing someone on death row is leaps and bounds cheaper than keeping them alive and fed for the rest of their lives. I don't know what baloney you read that said it was more expensive.

What's the point of keeping them alive? They don't contribute anything for society except sit there and rot. We have more people in jail than any other country in the world. Execute these murders, she took the lives of six or seven innocent children, there so no coming back from that. She'll never get out, she'll never function in society today, so what is the point? She would kill more children if she had never gotten caught.

I don't understand why people have sympathy for murders and rapists. I promise if it was someone you know or you yourself you wouldn't be so sympathetic.

I don't think this was taking a stand on capital punishment, only outlining state of Utah laws living in SLC I don't think death penalty would have had support in this case, just very sad

Well maybe she will do us a favor and kill herself. She doesn't deserve to live nor does she deserve our taxes to pay for her. She took lives and those poor babies paid the price.

Re: dire – No offense..but if anybody ever murders anybody that I love…………. I WANT THEM KILLED (by the government of course). The death penalty doesnt solve any problems but it sure feels good to watch a murderer fry under the voltage. Sometimes its all about the "feel good".

Good don't give her the death penalty, that would be the easy way out. She should have to live with what she has done, and serve her time in jail with mothers who would die to see their kids. They won't take well to her.

i have no idea why anyone would do this to the poor little babies. this woman needs to be put down!!! there is NO reason on earth someone should ever harm a baby. and the sad part is, she knew exactly what she was doing. she knew it would kill the poor babies and yet she still done it. and as for that rule, when the hell is it okay to just kill young kids and get away with it? cause if they dont put a stop to it, the problem is just going to get worse.. i dont care if anyone agrees with me or not.. i am 100% against letting murders, rapist and molesters live.. but like i said, you just turn your blind eye to it and act like nothing is wrong with this and it will keep happen, but to me i think its about time someone stands up for the kids..

Utah needs to change their death act and make it retroactive because if anyone deserves the death penalty it is this woman.

Re: Melayneie – So by your logic it should be legal to execute anyone who isn't a functioning member of society? Based on your comment I can tell that you have absolutely no ability to influence law or public policy and for that I am thankful because by your logic it would be acceptable to execute homeless people, people with severe developmental delays, people with debilitating physical disabilities, people with severe mental illness, people with Alzheimers, people who have suffered severe stokes and anyone who can't contribute to society.

Re: IQ is bred not random – Of course it would - at first. But eventually that contentment would wear off and the pain of losing your loved one will return and now you also have to deal with the blood on your hands and making someone else feel the exact same way. Murder, whether sanctioned by the state or otherwise, is murder. Capital punishment does not make us better humans. You only reduce yourself to their level.

Melayneie, you are the one with their facts mixed up. Maybe you should read a few scholarly articles about a subject before you let your emotions make up your stance on a topic. Here's a link to a Forbes article that states that studies “uniformly and conservatively shown that a death-penalty trial costs $1 million more than one in which prosecutors seek life without parole.” (

Everyone is talking about the woman, but what about the men who got her pregnant?
How does a woman get pregnant six times, carry a baby to full term for 9 months at a time, an no one notice?
And who is responsible for continually impregnanting her so she could continue to kill each child? Did the father(s) have no involvement at all??

I think if you're going to punush one side, why not the other that enabled her to begin with? After all, it takes two to tango.
