AWFUL California School Assignment Made Students Wonder If The Holocaust Was A Hoax!

School asks students to decide if the holocaust was a hoax

Wait a second — who is teaching our kids if this is the kind of material being presented??

A school in Rialto, California went off the deep end because after months of discussing an 18-page assignment questioning the legitimacy of the holocaust, they still thought it was a good idea.

However, after the kids were given their project, people began speaking out about it and the school is now backpedaling saying it was a “mistake.”

This is just incredibly unbelievable, but watch the video (below) and dare to believe.

"Galileo is best known for his light-hearted ability to question, dismantle and reassemble all of man's creations that, for him, lacked sensibility. Against his intellect and wit, no nonsensical concept could stand firm. If we learn anything at all from Galileo let it be this unusual ability of his. Question Everything - Accept Nothing.

This is called critical thinking. You should not believe every history book you read but evaluate the contents and think for yourself whether the sources cited are biased or not. It would have been interesting to see the rest of the assignment, including the blurred bits. That sentence has now been taken out of context.

Re: Default Setting – Great quotes. That's why we keep studying history - knew interpretations of the extant information can be very revealing. As for the holocaust - there are plenty of people still around who were there (like my Dad), and the Germans were great records keepers. There is no doubt that it happened, but I'm sure there are more stories to uncover.

I absolutely believe a Jewish Holocaust took place. It's the numbers that have been put up for question. These questions arose in part due to numbers from the book "The Dissolution of the Eastern European Jewry" by Walter N. Sanning, 2nd Edition Torrance/California 1985. His numbers stated that there were 2.4 million Jews in all of Europe's occupied countries, so obviously there have been endless questions regarding the 6 million figure so often quoted.

The vast majority of jews that died in WWII (5.7 million) were killed by allied bombing or disease that resulted from sewage lines being distorted. Only 210,000 were executed. But the way the jews tell the story makes it sound like 6 million were marched into gas chambers. That's where they loose their credibility.

Re: rosebud99 – the Germans were great record keepers thanks to a system of punch card system, precursor to the computer, developed and leased to nazi germany by IBM, and serviced by IBM, during the war. One might ask why, and one might study a good many questions, such as ww1's relevance to, ww2, which history downplays.

I don't understand what the issue is - the highlighted portion of the document suggests that the teacher wanted them to explore the topic from all angles. As a history teacher, I want my students to understand why, when, where, how a situation happened and the lasting effects. Your post, however, doesn't have any substance to your claim that they forced a radical opinion on the students.

Re: @v@ – Because it wasn't just Jews that were in the concentration camps. it was Poles, Gypsies, gays, etc… 6 million refers to the number of people killed - not just Jews.

Re: wanker – The whole idea of it ever being thought of as a hoax IS the problem. Anyone with even a basic understanding of world events would never question whether it ever happened. Evidence is beyond overwhelming.
