High School Gym Teacher Was Stealing Money From Kids Out Of Their Lockers! You Won’t Believe How He Got Caught! See The Video HERE!
As if climbing ropes and being pelted with dodge balls wasn’t bad enough! The kids at New Smyrna Beach High School were then returning to their lockers after gym class and seeing that someone had stolen money out of their wallets!
After at least 9 kids complained about the thefts, the school's administration decided to set up a sting operation to see who was looting the lockers!
They couldn’t set up security cameras though, since this was occurring inside a locker room. So instead, ultraviolet powder was purchased and placed all over money inside an anonymous wallet full of $141 in cash.
And the plan worked! The money inside the wallet was soon stolen and everyone in the school (including the faculty) was asked to show their hands under an ultraviolet light!
The culprit turned out to be gym teacher Rodney Barnes!
The 43-year-old was also the school assistant football coach! He was arrested and charged with one count of burglary and one count of grand theft between $300 and $5,000!
Barnes has since resigned from the school. No doubt he would have been fired had he not!
He admitted to authorities that he was stealing money from the students, explaining that he would check lockers that were insecure and take cash that he found.
But he also stated that he never took ALL of a students' money! He always left a few bills behind.
Oh, well that’s nice!
It’s estimated that Barnes took just under a thousand dollars from these kids!
What an awful crime to commit!
